Whenever I came across errors on a restaurant menu twenty years ago or more I could understand why. The availability of native English speakers in Cracow was limited, making it difficult to find someone to proofread. But these days, when there is a large ex-pat population living in Poland and a continual flow of tourists, I’m much less forgiving when it comes to translation mistakes. So you can imagine my reaction when I recently came across this doozy:
“Pasta with vegetables and chicken corpse.”
